The Ubuntu Server 16.04 image on Cloud Servers has been just updated to deliver the latest upgrades included. As the image is one of the most popular choices for cloud servers we’ve refreshed it to Ubuntu 16.04.4 which is the latest version of the 16.04.

It now includes some important updates and will minimize the number of packages upgraded during new server setup. While the next long term support version – Ubuntu Server 18.04 is already available, we’ll keep 16.04 image available for at least 3 more years and within time it will always be kept at the latest available update.

Keep in mind thath Ubuntu Server images come with automatic updates disabled by default, so you still need to pay attention and regularly upgrade your servers.
